SBMS is working with the City of Melbourne and Queen Victoria Market management to provide support for all market traders through an innovative program called Trader Connect.
Market traders can access many programs and opportunities for support through SBMS including:
- Mentoring (Ongoing one to one support)
- Business health checks
- Business Building Program
- Women in Business Program
- Workshops
- Speakers
- Mental health support
The Program has been designed to provide existing micro/small business owners with a unique opportunity to up-skill, be supported and to enhance core business skills.
The Women in Business and the Business Building program is delivered by way of 6 independent workshops. Workshop participants also receive ‘one on one’ mentoring to assist with planning, marketing, staffing, stock management, and digital enhancement of their businesses.

The program is complimented by access to business skills training videos, podcasts, and local support at the Trader Lounge. Traders will also have access to podcasts from business experts through The Small Business Institute website, and where required, access to a suite of small business networks and professional organisations and experts.
Apart from the great programs on offer, you can book with a mentor at any time.

In discussion with Madalen Ross, SBMS's Trader Connect Program Manager / Business Mentor in Residence. Madalen will be wandering around the market meeting with traders and having a chat every week. Madalen can assess your needs and arrange a mentor that can best help you or she can also be your Mentor. |

Through the SBMS Website. Go to the home page and in the "I want to use a Voucher" section, type in QVM. This will bring up a list of all of the mentors available. You can read their profiles, see what they look like and book them directly. There is no charge for the service to QVM Traders |
