Building Resilience – 3-Part Masterclass Series

South Gippsland Shire Council has partnered with SBMS, to offer the Building Resilience Masterclass Series to support businesses which are situated within the South Gippsland Shire.

This 3 workshop program is open to the owners/managers of employing businesses that have been operating for more than 12 months. Participants are required to attend all three Workshops to complete the program.

By registering to participate in this program, you confirm that you are available to attend all three Workshops on the dates below. Participants will also be required to complete 'homework' activities between workshops.

Tues 29 April 2025 - Workshop 1: Understanding Resilience & Identifying Risks, 5:30pm-7:30pm

Tues 20 May 2025 - Workshop 2: Strengthening Financial & Operational Resilience, 5:30pm-7:30pm

Tues 17 June 2025 - Workshop 3: Strengthening Networks & Long-Term Sustainability, 5:30pm-7:30pm

Program Outline

Workshop 1: Understanding Resilience & Identifying Risks

Objective: Participants will gain a clear understanding of business resilience and identify key risks specific to their business including economic shocks (inflation, interest rates, downturns), climate and weather risks (flooding, bushfires, extreme weather), localised disruptions (infrastructure projects, road closures), and technology risk (AI, cyber threats, obsolescence).

  • Assessing and Prioritising Risks

Workshop 2: Strengthening Financial & Operational Resilience

Objective: Participants will explore financial and operational strategies to build resilience and develop practical plans for implementation.

  • Developing an Immediate Action Plan

Workshop 3: Strengthening Networks & Long-Term Sustainability

Objective: Participants will focus on relationships, collaboration, and long-term strategies to sustain resilience.

  • Finalising the Resilience Plan
